    The Oakes Public School library will not discriminate against individuals with disabilities and shall ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to library resources. To ensure such access, our library will provide individuals with disabilities with services such as extended loan periods, waived late fines, extended reserve periods, books by mail, reference services by fax or email, remote access to the OPAC, remote electronic access to library resources,and volunteer technology assistants in the library.
    This library will provide accessible parking, clear paths of travel to and throughout the facility, entrances with adequate, clear openings or automatic doors, elevators, and accessible public conveniences such as restrooms and drinking fountains.     Procedure: 1. Complainant must file a request for removal of materials with the Media Specialist who will acknowledge receipt by dating and signing Request for Removal Form. 2. A committee will be set up to review the item in question. The committee will consist of the following: a. The Media Specialist b. The president of the Oakes Public Library Board c. A member of the Oakes Public Library Board d. A member of the Oakes School Faculty 3. Within 30 days of the filing date the material in question should be brought to the committee for evaluation. The committee has 90 days to make their recommendation. The initiator must be informed of the meeting(s) and shall have the right to participate in those meetings. The initiator will be notified of the decision through a letter from the committee. All information and records must be kept and filed.
